Are you a certified internet addict? Is your day not complete unless you check your email or sign in to your Instant Messaging (IM) account? Do you always search the net for the latest news, trends, music, and videos? If yes, you probably are wishing for a device that lets you do all these, without keeping you tied to your computer chair at home. Wish granted! Here is the Helio Ocean, just released in spring 2007. This goodie bag of a phone is something new, for the internet addict in you.
You might wonder how the Helio Ocean can do all that for you. Thanks to Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) technology, mobile phones like the Ocean are given the power to surf the internet wirelessly and download files in the fastest time possible. You can do the same online stuff you enjoy on your laptop or desktop, only better since it can be done in a handheld device, too.
If you always have an itch for checking email every now and then, for fear of missing something super important, the Ocean can handle that for you. The phone comes with tabs and icons linking you to a number of email clients: Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, AOL Mail, MSN Hotmail, Helio Mail, and Earthlink Mail. One click, and you’re there.
For the hardcore Instant Messaging (IM) fanatic, the Ocean has some surprises for you, too. This phone includes one-click buttons for signing in to Yahoo! Messenger, AOL AIM, and MSN Live Messenger. You can also save your friends IM ID’s from any or all of these three clients in your Ocean phonebook. Helio enabled the Ocean with the “Presence Detection” feature, so you are instantly alerted the moment your friends are online in any of these IM clients.
Helio also conveniently has tie-ups with MySpace, to cater to the young mobile users and to many others who love photo and video sharing. Photos taken on the Ocean’s 2.0 mega pixel digital camera can be uploaded to MySpace in a snap, or through the Helio Up service for storing in Flickr, and other images sites. Even videos captured on the digital camera can be uploaded to YouTube.
The Ocean is capable of high speed song and video clip downloads. A four to five minute songs takes about 40 to 60 seconds to download over the air. With Helio’s subscription plans, users can find the songs they like and save them on their Oceans for $1.99 each. Searching for the music artist is super fast with the Ocean’s click-free search feature. Typing in the name of the artist on the keyboard instantly gives you a list of songs, albums, links, and ring tone downloads.
So, who said you need to be restrained to your desk to enjoy the perks of internet access? With the Helio Ocean, all the music, photos, information, and communication you need is just a click away. Of course, for the internet addict like you, that’s more than enough to keep you occupied for a while.
