The topic at hand today is the smartphone called the HTC “Evo 4G”. It uses a new technology called “WiMax”. Read on to find out the details in this quick article on the Evo.

Sprint and other companies have been building a network that is five to ten times faster than Wi-Fi. The name given to it is appropriately called; “WiMax”. The “4G” revolution has been started on this newest of networks, with the “first shot” being the big and beautifyl Evo 4G. It not only has the power to use WiMax, but also the power to crunch the huge flow of data. The Evo has a quick processor, the 1000 megahertz Qualcomm “Snapdragon”, that makes the Evo a speed demon. The full gigabyte of RAM memory means the phone is more than ready to handly your full-speed navigation. The Evo will not slow you down.

The screen is large, at 4.3 inches. The screen is handy for typing out messages or emails thanks to its big size. A manual keyboard is done away with, since it is no longer needed. The Evo 4G has four buttons on the front, which correspond to many Android devices; “home”, “search”, “menu” and “back”. The buttons are touch-style buttons, and not manual “click” style. The screen has the now-common ability to turn itself automatically. This is due to having an accelerometer inside that knows which way is “up”.

The Android system is the sweet spot with the HTC Evo 4G. What good is having a Niagra-River flow of data if you can not use it ? The user interface from HTC, called “Sense” handles the menus, which handles the navigation. The Android system coupled with the Evo can do about as much as you would do with a regular laptop or PC. Remember the Evo has a 1000 megahertz processor. Your laptop may be around twice that fast, but the programs are also much larger in size, digitally speaking. It is similar to the race between the tortoise and the hare, except this time, the tortoise has more speed. The Android applications are being cranked out by the hundreds every week. If you do not like the Android system, chances are that in a few weeks from now you will. Right now the Evo has 30,000 applications available to it, popularly called “Android apps”, that are ready to do your bidding.

The HTC Evo 4G has two cameras on board. One camera is for taking photos at breath-taking clarity and the other is for video conferencing. The camera on the back of the smartphone has an eight megapixel rating. The camera on the front has a 1.3 megapixel rating. The camera can also take video at 720p, which many call “high definition”. The Evo has a kickstand, allowing you to be able set up the Evo as a small television. If the size of the screen is not big enough, there is an HDMI connection on the bottom of the unit to connect to a television. For audio, the Evo includes a FM radio. WiMax is augmented by an EVDO wireless connection if you happen to find yourself out of the range of WiMax.

The carrier chosen for this Evo 4G smartphone is Sprint. They are already notifying their customers of a “groundbreaking device” they will have for sale. More than likely it will be the HTC Evo.

If you are one who likes keeping up with the latest advancements in the mobile world, you are going to want to take a look at the HTC Evo 4G. This phone is using the latest broadcasting technology. Read on to find out more about this “groundbreaking” device.

The Evo 4G has a gorgeous screen that makes most other smartphone screens seem tiny. It is laid out in the regular “no keyboard” format. This makes it hard for many who have been accustomed to typing on a regular keyboard, even though it was a small one. The Evo has power, speed and one of the hottest operating systems to run it. With all that introduction, it also is the world´s first smartphone to hook up to a WiMax connection for super-speedy downloads and any other transfer of information.

As the world of technology blooms, means to use it also grows. The people at HTC are not really taking a dare, they know the future. The future is WiMax for the mobile world and the Evo 4G is the first smartphone to be able to use “4G” ( WiMax ) connections. If you happen to not always be in an area served by WiMax, the Evo can still accept a signal from other fast data connections. If you want to talk the HTC Evo uses CDMA networks. Hopefully, the Evo will be able to use GSM connections in the near future for world-wide use.

The phone looks good, but also looks like many other smartphones in its category. It does not have a manual keyboard, but not to worry, the on screen keyboard is huge. The screen measures in at 4.3 inches. This beats most all smartphones, including the flagships from Samsung and Nokia. It is multitouch enabled. It can run the gamut of acrobatics, which means it can do the automatic turning from portrait to landscape just by turning the smartphone on its side. The screen has the “pinch and zoom” but also has a function called “leap”. This is where you use the “pinch and zoom” function while viewing the home screen to access all the home screens at one time.

The operating system is the wildly popular Android model, version 2.1. This is a very popular system at the moment and has over 30,000 applications. Hundreds of new applications are being made for the Evo ( and any other Android-powered device ) weekly. If you do not see one you can use, more than likely it will be here in a few weeks, maybe less. The Google goggles program, Google earth, voice to text, as well as slew of others that are popping up. Some of them are “Ringdroid”, which lets you take a song you like and make a ringtone out of it. “GoCart” is used to save money at the grocery store ( or wherever ) by giving you information from the web about an item. “Dial Zero” gets you through directly to a person at over 600 companies without having to go through the companies phone menus. This is a great time and frustration-saver. As mentioned, more are on the way. You are probably already connected to Google in some way, so letting them give you a boost in your smartphone is natural.

If you like taking a lot of photos, the HTD Evo 4G is also going to be your best friend. It takes photos at a top-gun level of eight megapixels. If that is not enough, there is also a second camera to take videos. The eight megapixel camera is on the back and the other is a 1.3 megapixel facing forward. This will be used in the future for video conferencing. The Evo has its own kickstand to prop up the smartphone to view videos on the “big screen”. If you want, you can also hook up a television or monitor to the HDMI connection on the bottom of the Evo. The Evo takes video shots at a 720p resolution, which is just barely high definition, but it will do. It is certainly better than many other smartphones currently available.

As stated the Evo 4G connects to WiMax. This is a band that is around ten times faster than Wi-Fi. If you have a need for speed, get an Evo. If you happen to be out of range of a Wimax signal, the Evo also uses EVDO networks. The Evo has a 1000 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor to be able to use all that information flowing through its “veins”. You will not find yourself waiting for a program to open or close. The Evo 4G also has one full gigabyte of RAM. This is impressive and really puts the unit into “turbo” mode. Flying through the menus is literally flying.

The HTC Evo 4G smartphone is going to be sold through Verizon. They are already telling the world they have a “groundbreaking device” they are selling tomorrow. Most people think it will be the Evo 4G.

Just wait till you get your first view of the latest from HTC. The HTC Evo 4G is the as-yet unknown wave of the future of mobile technology. Get the facts here in this short articel on this smartphone from HTC.

If you could take your current smartphone and give it about a five to ten times faster data connection, would you do it ? That is where WiMax and the Evo enter the picture. Wimax is more powerful than Wi-Fi for pure connection speed. Until now you could not find a smartphone to use this with this new super connection. Now you have the HTC Evo 4G. This smartphone was originally called the “Supersonic” for the obvious reason of 4G. Do not let the term “4G” confuse you, it is simply the next level in mobile advances, and uses WiMax to achieve its goals. The Evo is similar to the “first shot” in a war. It is starting a new trend.

The screen on the HTC Evo is unexpectedly large, brilliant and clear. On “first time” devices, you do not usually have a great layout. That just is not true for the Evo. The screen is a huge 4.3 inches large. That is bigger than most regular smartphone screens, including the “google phone”, the Nexus One, which also happens to be made by HTC. HTC has been working together with Google for more than a year, so that should not come as a surprise. The clarity of the Evo 4G phone is superb, at 800 by 480 pixels of resolution. It has 65,536 colors to display. This is not quite the sixteen million of some smartphones, but will still impress you with its clarity and vitality. The Android platform allows the screen to have multitouch ability. In addition, the Evo has one more ability. Pinching ( pinching the screen ) on the screen while on the home screen brings up all the other home screens that the Evo has. This is called “leap” and is particulary useful for navigation of the Evo 4G.

The hardware powering the HTC Evo is as impressive as the screen. It has a 1000 megahertz processor, the same as on the Nexus One. This speed demon keeps the navigation from ever slowing down. It is close to impossible to crash this device. The internal memory on the clocks in at 440 megabytes. The Evo has one full gigabyte of RAM. That is astounding for such a small device, but technology is advancing rapidly. A nice touch for the Evo is the kickstand. You can prop up the smartphone and watch videos without having to hold it. If you want, you can also hook up the Evo to a television or monitor with the indcluded HDMI connector.

The operating system is the nuclear-hot Android created by Google. It has over 30,000 applications ready to make your life easier. Since we are already hooked up to Google in one way or another already, why not use their operating system on your mobile device ? This allows you to connect to youtube, gmail and google talk without problems. The Android system includes the ability to wipe your personal information from the phone remotely if you should lose your Evo or have it stolen. The other applications are things that will allow you to save money, save time or make your work more productive.

The looks of the HTC Evo are basic. There is no manual keyboard, but using the big screen to type messages is less of a problem on an Evo. The smartphone comes in basic black. It has four touch buttons on the front; back, home, menu and search. All other functions are initiated on the touchscreen. The Evo has two cameras, believe it or not, one is for photos and the other is for video conferencing. The video conferencing is not up to par yet, but Sprint is working on it.

No prices and no release date is set yet for the HTC Evo 4G. Sprint has claimed they have a “groundbreaking” new device they want to show the world tomorrow. Most people “in the know” believe it will be the Evo 4G.

The world´s first smartphone with the name of “Incredible” has just surfaced in the world of smartphones. HTC is the maker of the Incredible and for now it is somewhat amazing. Take a look by reading this quick article on the HTC Incredible.

There is a real resemblance between this phone and the acclaimed HTC Evo ( “Supersonic” ) smartphone. Like the Evo, the Incredible is not formally announced yet, but is expected to be running on the Verizon network. The Incredible is smaller than the Evo, but not by much.

The screen on the Incredible is 3.5 to 3.7 inches when measured diagonally. This is about the same as an iPhone or N900. It is a capacitive touch screen and is sensitive to finger movements without the need for a stylus. The official resolution is not known yet. There are speculations on whether or not it will be AMOLED. First assumptiions is that it will be regular TFT. It can change automatically from landscape to portrait mode by moving the smartphone to its side. Just under the screen is an optical trackpad.

The inside of the HTC Incredible has some impressive stats to show. The Snapdragon processor, which usually runs at 1000 megahertz on the Evo, is toned down to run 768 megahertz. If you wonder why, it is to save on battery life. More speed equals more power and the Incredible is going to run fast, even if its “turbo button” is not turned on. ( No, it does not really have a turbo button. ) The Incredible comes with plenty of RAM, 256 megabytes to be exact. Some are saying it will come out with more than that, around 512 megabytes.

The Incredible will have the latest version of the Android operating system; 2.1. This means you get all the nice screen acrobatics like multitouch and perhaps even the “leap” function. Leap is the ability to pinch the screen and have all the home screen widgets “leap” onto the page. This is a nice time saver. Android apps are as popular as a Baskin Robbins store in hell at the moment. They are being churned out at blazing speeds. At the moment there are over 30,000 of them for your life. Most people pick out at least five apps to put on their phone. The Incredible will be able to wipe your personal data off the smartphone with the sending of one small text message. This is to keep it ( your data ) out of the hands of the bad guys and girls who may find your phone if you lose it.

HTC has their own way of dressing up the inside of their products. The HD Mini is created with a yellow interior. This Incredible is created with a bright red interior. The battery is also bright red to match. What purpose does this serve ? Perhaps HTC will reveal it to us, but for now, it is suspected that it is painted for the geeks in the world. It is to show it off to their ( maybe your ? ) other geeky friends. In other words; “Hey Eric, the inside of my phone is cooler than yours !”. The external appearance of the HTC Incredible is not all that, well, “incredible”. No glossy metallic greens or purples. It comes in a basic black that, for now, has the soft-touch feel to it.

The Incredible has a power-packed camera that takes “incredibly” detailed pictures. It is an eight megapixel data collecting machine. It can also shoot video. It may come with a FM radio. Stay tuned for more information on that feature. There is a music player and a 3.5 millimeter audio jack that is standard on all well-made smartphones.

All the important connections and services are available on the Incredible. It connects to voice networks using quad band GSM and to data networks with everything but infrared. The Wi-Fi connects at the maxium “G” mode. You have the now-common MicroSD slot to boost the memory capacity to 32 gigabytes. Email, internet messaging, a high quality web browser, and internet messaging are all available on the Incredible.

There are no prices announced for this smartphone, since it is coming out in the next few weeks. Look for it to come out around the same time that the Evo comes out.

The world of “4G” is breaking in on the mobile community. One of the first players on the field is a phone known as the HTC “Evo”. HTC has their hand on so many new advances that it is hard to go through a month or a week without a new development. Take a closer look at their newest creation right here in this quick article.

This particular smartphone was known by the name “Supersonic” in the not-so-distant past. It is not even out yet, and they changed the name to “Evo”. Not to worry, this is beginning to be a normal trend for celular phone makers these days. This phone is literally gorgeous. It has a huge screen and packs as much punch, technologically speaking, as just about anything out there, even the Nokia N900.

Speaking of the screen, it is 4.3 inches “large”. For comparison, the google phone ( Nexus One ) has a screen of 3.7 inches in size. An iPhone 3G or 3Gs has a screen of 3.5 inches. The screen has a new feature called “Leap” that allows you to pinch the screen and launch all the home screen panels. That is not the same as the multitouch where you pinch the screen and zoom into a page. It has that also. It is worth it to mention that the touch buttons under the screen work better than that of the Nexus One. There is no manual keyboard with this smartphone, all the typing is done on the screen. This is easy, since the screen is so big.

The exterior of the HTC “Evo” is the svelt looks of modern technology. It is thin and the screen covers practically the whole front of the smartphone. The Evo comes with a kickstand to prop it up while you watch video. You may just sell your laptop. Production models of this phone will have it painted in silver. There is no trackball like other models that holds dust and lint. The buttons are fully touch and do not protrude from the Evo. The Evo feels hefty. It is hardly fat, at half an inch.

The big news, maybe the biggest news, is the new HTC Sense user interface on the Evo. It has improvments over the last version. You can arrange your contacts into groups. You can therefore group contacts by work, play, sports, or whatever you like. The Android “app” ( application ) market is exploding for devices like this that use the Android operating system. There are more than 30,000 apps available and new ones are being developed every day. The Evo has a WebKit browser that is fast and renders web pages accurately on sites that have some semblance of web standards. Google goggles, google earth, voice to text and other useful applications are available on the Evo. If you lose your Evo or have it stolen, you can wipe all the personal information from the phone with one pre-determined sms message.

The other big news is that the HTC Evo can use 4G connections. This is otherwise known as “Wi-Max”. It is an unbelievable ten times faster than 3G connections. If you can not get a Wi-Max signal yet, the Evo can handle EVDO data. Other hard-wired data connections include an HDMI connection for streaming video to a television. The MicroUSB connnector will go to your laptop or PC. Both of these are on the bottom of the Evo.

If you like taking photos you are in for a treat with the HTC Evo. The Evo has two ! It has an amazing eight megapixel camera on the back, and another on the front that takes 1.3 megapixel pictures. An application is being developed for video chat, since it has the forward facing camera. The back camera has flash. You can take videos and actually save them. The Evo has one gigabyte of memory, enough for lots of files. If you need more space the Evo has the customary MicroSD card slot. For listening to music, or for privacy, the Evo has a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. For audio entertainment, a FM radio is included.

The size of the HTC Evo is bit taller than many smartphones. It is 4.8 inches tall. It weighs six ounces. It will be offered by Sprint and sold in various retailers across the United States.

If you were waiting for the right phone for your own use, the HTC Magic may have been the one. It is thin, light, powerful and has a nice screen to boot. Take a look at this HTC smartphone for the scoop.

Streamlined is a good word to describe the exterior of the HTC Magic. It is lacking in a manual keyboard, but makes up for it in the convenient size. The screen is a 3.2 inch display with a resolution of 320 by 480 pixels. It is just four and half inches tall and just barely over two inches wide. It is .58 inches thick, which is practically half an inch.

The interior workings of the HTC Magic are taken care of by the popular android operating system. This is a rapidly developing piece of software that offers lots of social networking skills. Do you want to connect to your friends or family on Facebook, Twitter, Google Talk and YouTube ? Not only can you do it on this phone, you can do it with ease. The HTC Magic with android allows you to “wipe” your smartphone from a distance if you lose it or it is stolen. You have lots of other apps to track and locate your contacts, Believe it or not you can also snap a photo of a barcode and have the internet tell you information and prices on the item associated with the barcode. How about the Urbanspoon application ( program ) ? If you can not decide on where to eat, Urbanspoon can help you decide with prices and locations and more. Thanks to the multi-touch ability of android you can use google maps with much more ease.

The processor comes in at a strong 528 megahertz on the HTC Magic. This will allow you to open more programs and not have a crash. Internal memory is on the 288 megabyte level. Not bad for a smartphone, but it could be better. Others are offering more in the same price categories. To make amends for the average memory level, there is a MicroSD card slot that will allow you to load files that are on the gigabyte level. This smartphone is manufactured in black or white plastic. You have your choice of those two colors. Quite a shame for a phone with so much ability. You do get WLAN ( Wi-Fi ) ability to take advantage of faster load times for web pages and hopefully skype will be available in the future to allow you to save money on calls using Wi-Fi.

One difference that you will need to remember when comparing android phones like this HTC Magic to the iPhone models is that applications are almos always free. You download neat software and do not pay anything. This phone takes a maximum of ten minutes to setup with your personal information and settings you like. After that is all usage and no adjusting. The HTC magic is a good all-around smartphone that connects you to the rest of the world with convenience that you can fit in your pocket without a problem.

Introduction:

HTC HD2 boasts a gigantic 4.3-inch screen, largest screen in any cell phone ever.1GHz processor and 448MB RAM. The HD2 also comes with an enhanced version TouchFLO 3D interface.

Design:

Appearance is not the strength of HTC HD2. It is somewhat rectangular, but pretty thin the only raised section is its 5-megapixel camera at its back. It has good image quality; resolution of 480×800 pixels .HD2 supports multitouch.

All its physical buttons are very distinctly felt once pressed its well build and proper it feels well assembled and quite reliable. Comes fitted with a microUSB port the microSD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack is found under the metal cover of the battery.

HTC Sense interface
customers are able to communicate with their online buddies across many social networks. The HD2 integrates its information from the three popular services –Tweeter YouTube and Facebook,YouTube functionality is added, you able to upload videos straight from your phone gallery easy and fast.

Messaging, internet and software

Its portrait screen QWERTY keyboard is very suitable for text due to the overall size typing with one hand isn’t difficult at all. For messages that are free of any typing mistakes, you best use your compact QWERTY keyboard. Handling emails with your HTC HD2 is easy.

Once the email account is set up you receive automated setup for Google. Outlook and AOL. Working with numerous email accounts concurrently is also extremely easy. The HD2 can also be used as Wi-Fi router.

Besides a standard Office suite also Adobe Reader LE, JET PRINT 5 application is now on board for printing of pictures, documents, etc. using network of Bluetooth printers.

CoPilot Live and Google Maps for navigation, the handset also sports an A-GPS this will get your position certainly located accurately.

Internet with Internet Explorer and Opera Mobile, but we fancy the former, since it supports multitouch. Pages load very fast, scrolling is really smooth and the zooming via multitouch is great

Camera and Multimedia:
The HTC HD2 comes with a 5 mega pixels camera and with auto focus and flash. Pictures that are taken outdoors lack details. The colors are quite real the macro snapshot is amazing.

Since the videos are in VGA the shots don’t have many details HTC HD2 video are 640×480 pixels resolution
when the Snapdragon chipset is installed CorePlayer, we get Xvid and DivX support now we able to watch videos at a resolution 800×480 pixels immediately. Making the detail and color smashing and the large screen makes it even better.

Conclusion:

HTC HD2 calls where quite average. Sound was passable in loudness, there was constant static. The good thing about HD2 it manages isolating environmental noises, callers can only hear your voice.

Battery provides approximately 6.33 hours of talk and the handset up to 490 hours on standby. Ultimately, we have to say “yes” to HTC HD2. This is a great device that offers loads with all respect. What’s more, taking into consideration the existence of Sense interface, the HD2 is not labeled as just “one more high-tech toy”, since it comes equipped with functions within the front position of now days social networking, something that’s going to undoubtedly appeal to, a good fraction of numerous public using different social network services.

Pros

The biggest screen ever on cell phone

Socially-oriented Sense interface

Super hardware – super performance

Windows Mobile with a capacitive screen

Cons

Mediocre call quality

Lacks in integrated support for Xvid andDivX

The boxed headset can be better

Snapshots lack sufficient details

INTRODUCTION:

The HTC S740 is a standard smart-phone, come set with a standard numeric keypad and full QWERTY keyboard. This way your normal-looking phones transforms into a messaging device. The specifications has improved from the S730 it has become much faster with more RAM and a better camera.

WHATS IN THE BOX:

HTC S740.

Pouch.

Headphones.

Charger.

Data cables.

DESIGN:

The HTC S740 has a flat front with a diamond-like rear. Unfortunately, its shinny and smooth surface are prone to be smeared with fingerprints. The S740 is much longer than your Touch HD, once the phone is close it looks pretty much ordinary, yet its dimensions can be rather interesting. This phone is obviously not the smallest HTC QWERTY smart-phone; however it’s not that thick with a width of 16.3mm, making the phone simple to fit in any pocket. It weighs 4.94 oz that is 140 grams.

S740 has a display of 2.4-inches with QVGA resolution, the colors are brilliant and saturated in addition the colors stay the same even in the sunlight. At the bottom you will find your round D-pad, this blinks in a white color when you have new messages or a missed call. The end and send key are positioned around it, they are tiny but protruding just enough making it easy pressing them. Your functional keys, back and home are there as well.

As mentioned this phone is relatively long, but its screen is not large. This way the numeric keypad makes the most of it resulting in big, handy keys. With all this said its main feature is not its numeric keypad but the QWERTY keyboard. When you slide the phone open, its screen turns into landscape view. On you left is a volume rocker, on your right you find its camera shutter at the top you find a power button. The last button was almost unnoticed through touch; however we did not have any problems pressing it.

Your microSD and SIM are located behind your back panel same to most phones, but underneath your numeric keypad. To get to it you would have to open its slider and after that the tiny cover at the bottom part. While doing this your phone will automatically turn off.

SOFTWARE:

The S740 naturally runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. The only customization it has is the home screen. By default, it has the same home screen as HTC Home; you are able to change to WM standard if that’s what you wish. HTC Home features in a vertical file of icons, when you open the slider the screen will change to landscape view from portrait. The difference from the S730 is that you have the menu; this allows you quick access to e-mail, Windows Live Messenger and messages.

This is a 3G phone has Wi-Fi, you will enjoy high-speed internet. Regrettably, your default browser is Internet Explorer, you will experience difficulties while loading complex pages such as phone-Arena.com, and we recommend you choose an alternative like Opera Mobile.

Although the HTC S740 is designed especially for texting, but its multimedia capabilities are also great, its video recordings play excellent. Videos clips play in high quality at a resolution of 640×272 pixels, the music player has an average sound through the headphones and when the volume is turned up the sound becomes very sharp. Its loudspeaker is not very good.

CAMERA:

It comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera this has improved from its previous models. Also has all the basic functions such as brightness and whit balance, Outdoor pictures are not very satisfying. Unfortunately the camera doesn’t come with a flash, making the indoor picture not that good quality. The HTC S740 also is able to do video recording at a resolution of 352x288pixels.

The new HTC S740 also features a GPS system this will assist you when you have lost your way. Unfortunately, you don’t have a preinstalled application for running it.

PERFORMANCE:

It was a pleasure using the HTC S740 the performance was good without any lag while navigating through all the menus or while running different applications. Additionally when the slider is opened its display changes the orientation pretty fast. This improvement is greatly welcomed since it took 3-4 seconds by previous models. The sound was not very impressive with loads of noises, the loudspeaker was unclear and crackling, but the sound was loud from both sides.

CONCLUSION;

In all the HTC S740 is an excellent smart-phone which boasts a number of features and has a handy QWERTY keyboard as a bonus. But on the downside it is a tad bulky, with a weight of 4.94 oz or 140 grams which is not easily ignored. If you looking for a smart phone that’s not touch screen then you defiantly will not be disappointed with the HTC S740.

PROS:

Has a great display.

Modern and interesting design.

A very handy QWERTY keyboard.

CONS:

Pictures are disappointing lacks in flash.

Calls are not clear with all the noises and crackling during a call.

The phone is noticeably bulky and is also heavy.

The loudspeaker disappointedly is useless.
