Earlier in 2007, Samsung proudly released one of its most innovative ideas yet, the Samsung Upstage M620. No other mobile phone model has been designed with a phone on one side, and a music player on the opposite side. It’s often called the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of mobile phones. The model was originally named as the Samsung Ultra Music F300, but was later on renamed as the Upstage M620, more appropriately because it seems to upstage all other units.

So what else makes this phone stand out? Let’s run the numbers, shall we? The Upstage M620’s bar style body measures 4.07″ x 1.73″ x 0.37″ (103 x 44 x 9 mm) and weighs only 2.57 ounces (73 grams), nearly as much as two candy bars.

The Upstage M620 has two LCD screens, one for the phone side, and one for the music player side. The phone LCD screen is 1.4 inches and has 176 x 65 pixel resolution in 65,000 colors. Caller information and text messages can clearly be seen on it, and whenever you dial, each digit is of a different color. The music player LCD screen is much larger at 2.1 inches, 176 x 220 pixels and 262,000 color display. That makes it great for listing songs, viewing photos and album covers and watching streaming video.

How well does it communicate? The Upstage is capable of Short Message Service (SMS) as well as Multimedia Message Service (MMS), where users can send sound files, photos, and video along with text to anyone in the world. Another bonus, the Upstage is capable of voice dialing, and voice dictation. Depending on the service provider, the Upstage M620 can be made compatible for AOL, Yahoo! Messenger, and ICQ.

With something that slim, you’ll be surprised to know the Upstage has room for a built-in digital camera. The 1.3 mega pixel camera is mounted on the side of the unit, and can take photos in widescreen mode, and can record any length of video, as long as the memory permits. Photos can be used as caller ID pictures, or attached to MMS files. Videos and pictures can easily be shared via Bluetooth, USB, or the memory card.

All this and more great features awaits the adventurous and the curious who want to check out the Samsung Upstage M620. You’ll be amazed at what this schizo of a mobile phone can do.

When personal digital assistants (PDA) made their way into the modern age, we thought computers couldn’t get any more portable. We were so glad that we could surf the internet and do our work wirelessly, just by using our PDA’s. But with the rapidly changing time, the power of computers increased in strength, while their bodies shrank in size. Meet the Samsung Upstage M620. It’s not just a phone, a PDA, and a computer, but also a uniquely smart music player.

This Upstage is such an amazing combination of many machines, you’d wonder how they fitted it in one handheld device. The mobile phone is capable of Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) technology, like many 3G phones today. EVDO allows users to get online and download at high speed using their mobile phones. With the Upstage M620’s convenient web browser and 2.1 inch LCD screen, subscribers can watch live TV broadcasts, movie clips, music videos, and tune in to the news.

The mobile phone also comes with a 1.3 mega pixel digital camera which can zoom up to 5x. Pictures taken can be in four resolutions, from as large as 1280 x 160 pixels or as low as 176 x 220, depending on the user’s preference. The camera can take still photos in night mode, and can operate on a five second self-timer. There are also adjustments for brightness and contrast, and a photo editing software is included. The Upstage supports PictBridge, so photos can be printed immediately without cable or card transfer.

The Upstage M620’s digital camera can take video clips with sound, as long as there is available space in the memory. Videos that are less than 30 seconds long can be attached to Multimedia Message Service (MMS) files or sent in emails. Photos can be saved and used as wallpapers or caller ID pictures. Photo sharing is also made easier with the Upstage, as users can transfer using Bluetooth, USB cable, or SD card. Overall quality of pictures is pretty good, several sources say.

Mobile phones today have come a long way than just for taking calls or sending text messages. They have evolved beyond PDA duties, made lives more convenient, and information more reachable. As computers shrink in size, one can only hope that the goodies in them will keep getting better. With features like that of the Upstage, one can have an even better view of the world.

Samsung made waves in 2007 with great news for the mobile lovers of the world. No, it’s not just the beautiful Beyonce Knowles sashaying her way into the Samsung TV commercial. It’s the introduction of a mobile that emphasizes the statement, “Two is better than one.” Meet the Samsung Upstage M620, one phone with more than a few tricks up its sleeve.

Two portable devices for the price of one really sounds like a great deal. The Upstage M620 is a brilliant marriage of mobile phone on one face, and a music player on the other face. Imagine not having to carry around your cellular phone in one pocket, and your mp3 player in another. With just the flick of a switch, you can use the phone side of the Upstage for sending text messages, receiving calls, updating your phone book and calendar, and other applications. Flick the switch again, and you have a media player, for songs, videos, live TV clips, and web browsing.

Sprint was the first service provider in the United States to carry the Upstage M620 model. At $149 with two year subscription, mobile fanatics can enjoy the good stuff offered by the Upstage. Sprint gives their customers access to Sprint TV, where live broadcasts of news, weather, sports, and select channels are within reach. Music lovers can get on the Sprint Music Store, where millions of songs can be downloaded at only 99 cents per piece. Each song bought comes in two copies, one for the Upstage, and another mp3 file that can be saved on the computer.

But one of the reasons mobile fanatics choose a phone is to communicate, right? Of course, the Upstage M620 can do more than just call. The Upstage has both SMS and MMS capabilities. A built-in T9 dictionary and voice dictation feature help ease text messaging even more. When dialing numbers, they appear in different colors on the LCD screen. Plus, picture ID can be created per phonebook entry. The Upstage comes with voice dialing as well. If you’re listening to music on the Upstage and a call comes in, the phone automatically mutes the sound so you can answer.

More plus features for the Upstage M620: voice memo, calendar, 1.3 mega pixel digital camera, Bluetooth and USB compatible, included or downloadable games and applications. Another added bonus from Samsung, owners of the Upstage have Beyonce’s single, “Irreplaceable” already saved onto their music player. Think of all the possibilities you can enjoy with just one phone. Now, isn’t that good news?

If anybody called you “two-faced”, you’d surely throw a fit. But if you call a mobile phone the same name, now that’s something new. Never heard of a “two-faced” phone before? Then meet the Samsung Upstage M620. Have this in your hand, and you’ll make more than a couple of heads turn.

Originally named as the Samsung Ultra Music F300, then later renamed as the Upstage M620, the intended sellable feature it its musical ability. The mobile phone in itself stands out. Look at it from one side, and you’ve got the typical phone for calls and messages. Flip it over, and you’ve got a music player, video player, and digital camera. This phone is perfect for the multimedia lover, and at the same time is functional for the busybody. You can switch from phone to player via flip switch with lock and unlock mode on the side of the unit.

You might want to check out its stylish and slim body, and how it fares against its competitors. Measuring only 4.07 inches by 1.73 inches, it’s almost the size of your typical Ipod Nano. Plus, the Upstage is only 0.37 inches thick, much thinner than the Motorola RAZR. The Upstage carries a candy bar style body, and weighs only 2.57 ounces or 73 grams, exactly like a regular-sized Hershey’s milk chocolate bar.

So if the Upstage is made for music, how well does it perform? As Sprint is the first service provider that supports the Samsung Upstage M620, users have access to the Sprint Music store. Subscribers can go online with their Upstage phones and download songs over the air at 99 cents per piece. The phone carries an internal 64MB memory, which can be expanded with an SD card to nearly 2GB. You can play songs in mp3, WMA, AAC, and WAV format. It comes with standard stereo headphones or can be compatible with Bluetooth headsets. Music playback is excellent, and you can hide the player screen while listening to songs. This is perfect for multitasking, as you can surf the web, send messages, browse through album covers, while the music is playing.

With all the busy things you want to do with the Upstage, can the battery last long? The battery is built in to the phone, and can run for 2.5 hours of talk time on one charge. Mobile reviewers say that you can play music continuously for about eight hours. The good thing about the Upstage is that it comes with a battery wallet, in which you can insert the phone and extend the battery life to 6.5 hours.

Hopefully, you’re convinced that the Samsung Upstage M620 is a great asset for you. Next time you hear about “two-faced”, remember this phone. It’s definitely something to make heads turn.

In the first quarter of 2007, there has been a buzz about multi-awarded music artist Beyonce Knowles campaigning for the latest Samsung mobile gadget. True enough, in April, the sultry songstress appeared and swayed her hips in the latest TV commercial for the Samsung Ultra Music F300. A couple of months later, with word of Apple’s new iPhone coming out in June, Samsung appropriately changed the model’s name to the Upstage M620. So with Beyonce as the superstar secret weapon, and with the phone’s new name, can it really upstage the iPhone?

Critics have been raving about the coolness of merging a regular Samsung phone on one side, with an iPod-like music player on another. The Upstage M620 has a smaller LCD screen on the phone side for reading text messages and dialing numbers, and a larger screen at the back for music and video playback, web surfing, as well as a viewfinder for the built-in digital camera.

While the iPhone has a larger screen that mainly works by touch, the Upstage has a directional pad (dpad) instead. Some users say that the iPhone is very touch-sensitive, and not to mention gets easily scratched when placed in the pocket or a bag. The Upstage has a switch on the side, that locks the music player side when someone takes a call, or the phone side when someone browses the web. Plus, the dpad can be set for different levels of sensitivity.

The Upstage can download music via the Sprint Music Store, which subscribers can access through their mobile. Smartly enough, Sprint made downloading on the Upstage convenient, matching the iTunes price of 99 cents per song. A good feature of the Upstage is that it mutes the songs when a call is received. When you want to surf the web, you can hide the music player menu but still continue listening to your songs.

What is the biggest point earner for the Samsung Upstage M620? You got it. It’s the price. With a two year subscription, you can get the Upstage from Sprint for about $149. That’s roughly one-fourth of the price of the iPhone with a two year subscription! So if you’re looking for a phone to match your musical lifestyle, but you’re on a budget, get yourself a Samsung Upstage M620. It’s more than just your average cellular phone plus music player. Take Beyonce’s word for it.

Samsung is considered to be one of the worldwide big bosses in the digital and electronic industry. Established in 1969, the company has come a long way in improving the quality of life for millions of people. Today, Samsung innovates with better technology to suit every lifestyle.

In April 2007, Samsung proudly launched the Ultra Music F300, with Grammy-winner Beyonce Knowles leading the advertising campaign. Later on, the phone was renamed as the Upstage M620, as it intends to win against its mobile competitors. The Upstage is exactly what the TV commercial says: it’s for users who need their mobiles for business, as well as those who enjoy music anywhere they go.

The Upstage is the first model of its kind to have two faces: a phone side and a media player side. Aside from that, the unit is ultra thin and lightweight. With the flick of a switch, users can go from typing text messages or making calls to listening to music and watching TV. A smart 3G phone, the Upstage has EVDO technology, for high speed web surfing, downloading, as well as live TV broadcasts for news and sports. Users can make video calls with the Upstage and send SMS and MMS messages to anyone in the world. The phone also includes templates for messages, and a T9 dictionary for easy text entry. File sharing has never been easier with the Upstage M620. It has Bluetooth, USB connectivity, and SD card which can expand the memory to 2GB.

With a built-in 1.3 mega pixel digital camera, users can make video calls, and of course, still photos and capture videos. The camera can zoom up to 5x, and shoot in night mode or with a 5-second self-timer. Photos can be edited with color tone adjustments, brightness, and with fun frames. PictBridge lets you send photos for direct printing, without using the USB or the SD card. Videos can be taken for 30 seconds or more, depending on available disk space.

Additional features of the Upstage include polyphonic ring tones, wallpapers, themes, Java games and applications, voice memo, to-do list, calendar, alarm clock, calculator, and voice dialing with caller photo ID or tone. As Samsung says, having a phone that does everything you need is not hard to imagine. The Upstage M620 can be more than just a phone or a music player. This innovation lets you view the world in a brighter perspective.

Earlier in 2007, people have been talking about the arrival of the iPhone many, many months later. Not to be outdone, Samsung surprised everyone in the United States by getting ahead of the game and releasing the Upstage M620 in April. The Upstage planned to outsmart the iPhone in more ways than one.

Meet the Samsung Upstage M620. Originally named as the Ultra Music F300, but later changed to imply what it intends to do with the competition. The phone is a slim and light candy bar model, doubling as both a phone and a music player. Perhaps the first of its kind, the Upstage has a switch that lets a user change from phone mode to music player mode, to prevent unwanted enabling of certain applications.

As one of the smartest 3G phones to date, the Upstage is capable of Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) connection. With EVDO, users can download files and browse through the internet at high speed, even when many others are online at the same time. The Upstage is also Bluetooth compatible, has USB connectivity and a built-in 53MB memory. An SD card can be purchased separately to increase memory to 2GB, for maximal music downloading.

The large media player screen on the music side can display over 200,000 colors. It makes the Upstage perfect for viewing album covers, photos, watching live TV broadcasts, movie clips and video. The touch-sensitive d-pad controls playback of mp3 and WMA format songs.

The Upstage M620 is also a smart mini-computer. It’s powerful enough to browse the internet at high speed, even when the music is playing. As a PDA, it has voice memo, calendar, to-do list, voice dialing, and voice dictation for composing messages. The phonebook can carry 500 entries, each with five numbers allowed. The Lithium Ion battery can keep for 2.5 hours of talk time or eight hours of music play. Battery can be increased to almost 7 hours using the included battery wallet, which can be attached or detached from the phone.

Don’t count out the 1.3 mega pixel digital camera, which can zoom up to 5x, and take photos in four different resolutions. Plus, there’s a night mode, self-timer, and the user can adjust brightness, contrast, color, and white balance. Videos can be taken for more than 30 seconds, as long as there is memory space available.

What’s the best surprise? The Samsung Upstage M620 costs only one fourth of the iPhone. You could have all these great features, and enjoy the savings you make. That’s a smart surprise. Thanks to Samsung.

Selecting a mobile phone that suits your preference is not easy today. With the hundreds of models and styles out there, it will take you a while to decide. To make it a little simpler for you, let me narrow it down. Here is a mobile phone that’s got everything you need and more: the Samsung Upstage M620. Give it a shot, and you probably won’t have to think twice about getting it.

Since they are called mobile phones, we always look for portability. The Upstage has got it for you. It weighs only 73 grams, and measures 103 x 44 x 9 mm. That means the Upstage is less than 0.4 inches thick. The Lithium Ion battery is already attached to the unit, and can go for 2.5 hours of talk time or 8 hours of continuous music play. A battery wallet is included in the mobile phone package. With it, you can slip in the Upstage and extend its battery life to 7.5 hours. If you don’t want the extra bulk or don’t feel the need to extend the battery, you can detach it from the phone.

The Upstage M620 has got two LCD screens: one for the phone side, and when you flip it over, you’ve got another on the music player side. It’s hard to imagine that these two devices could be merged into one. The phone side LCD is 1.4 inches, with 65,000 color resolution. You can view phone numbers, SMS, MMS, calendar, to-do lists, and memos on this screen. The player side’s LCD is 2.1 inches, and has over 200,000 color resolution. It displays photos, videos, live TV broadcasts, and web pages with great quality. The screen also serves as the viewfinder for the 1.3 mega pixel digital camera, which takes photos and captures video at up to 5x zoom.

Hold on, the Upstage is not just a phone with two faces. It’s a powerful computer as well. Equipped with 3G technology, the Upstage can surf the web and download songs and videos from millions of selections at ultra high speed. If a TV isn’t around, the Upstage can log on to get live TV broadcasts for news, sports, weather, and the stock market. Because it’s a 3G phone, the Upstage is capable of video calling. Other features include Bluetooth, USB connectivity, SD card for extended memory, voice dialing, voice dictation, plus Java games and applications. Want to know more? Then check out the Upstage M620 at a store near you.

The Samsung Company was founded in Seoul, South Korea in 1969. The company has gained worldwide acclaim for its products and services in the electronics and telecommunications industries. In 2005, it was proudly proclaimed by Business Week as the number one consumer electronics brand in the world. Since then, Samsung keeps coming up with ways to make life better. One of their newest bright ideas in the telecom sector is the Samsung Upstage M620.

Never has there been any mobile phone created with dual interfaces. The Upstage M620 possesses a mobile phone on one face, and a media player on the other. Smartly enough, the unit is lightweight, compact, and stylish. When the Upstage first came out in the United States in April 2007, Sprint was the lucky one that won the rights to distribute it.

Let’s talk about the phone side first, shall we? The phone half of the Upstage has a 1.4 inch LCD screen with 176 x 65 pixel resolution. Display is up to 65,000 colors. The screen has clear and colored font for dialing numbers and entering text messages. The appearance is similar to the Samsung N270, which was featured in Keanu Reeve’s “The Matrix”. On the upper left corner of the Upstage M620’s phone face, you will find a 1.3 mega pixel digital camera with 5x zoom. The camera can take photos in night mode and operates with a self-timer. Photos and videos can be shared among users by MMS, Bluetooth, USB cable, and SD card. Using 3G, the camera serves as a webcam, and together with the speakerphone, users can make video calls.

Now, let’s move on to the media player side. The LCD screen here is much larger, at 2.1 inches with 176 x 220 pixel resolution. Display can be over 200,000 colors. When the digital camera is enabled, this LCD screen serves as the viewfinder. The media player side of the Upstage looks like the Samsung DAP, their mp3 player that was made to stand up to the iPod Nano. The Upstage M620 has a touch-sensitive directional keypad for scrolling and navigating through menus, as well as controlling playback. On this side of the mobile phone, you can play music, view album covers, watch live TV feeds, and movie clips. Added to that, you can surf the internet, browse emails, download songs, games, and applications with ease.

Samsung may have invented one of their best gadgets yet. The competition for creating the most high-tech mobile phones keeps getting tighter. Let’s wait and see, what will Samsung think of next?
