Motorola has, without a doubt, succeeded with its release of the i850 mobile phone model. Having been designed to be fashionably classy yet playfully sassy, it is quite surprising to find a whole list of delightful calling features in the Motorola i850.

First of all, the Motorola i850 allows its users to store up to six hundred contacts in its address book. These contacts can be stored with multiple phone numbers and email addresses or other information. A user can even store a photo and a ring tone for each contact for identification. These will be used each time the contact calls the user’s number. Message and calling alert tones also come pre-installed as polyphonic tunes. However, if the user feels that the pre-installed tones do not suit his personality, several additions to the list can be made. This can be done by simply making use of Nextel’s online services.

Apart from these, the Motorola i850 allows its users to make voice activated calls. This way, numbers frequently dialed contacts need not be dialed for each call. A Motorola i850 user must only say the name of the contact to be called and the phone will dial that number automatically. Furthermore, the Motorola i850’s speakerphone makes it easy for its users to multi-task for they can be on the line with someone and perform other tasks with their hands even without accessory hands-free gadgets.

Nextel has long been known for the rugged designs of its cellular phones. Because those who rely on Nextel services are those who focus mainly on function rather than fashion, there are no complaints about older Nextel models at all. However, through the Motorola i850, Nextel proved that mobile phones need not be one or the other. Truly, the Motorola i850 encompasses both function and fashion through a streamlined yet durable design.

The Motorola i850 is a clamshell phone small enough to comfortably fit at the palm of your hands. Although it has an antenna that sticks out from the modern shell, this only seems to contribute to its classy yet tough appearance.

The Motorola i850’s external features a sleek silver and black casing. It also has a small supplementary display for easy access to the time, callers’ information, and both battery and signal levels. This screen, although monochromatic in display, is backed by powerful blue lighting and measures 96 x 32 pixels.

On the inside of the clamshell, this mobile phone features a streamlined design of mechanical buttons lined in silver. These buttons include a four-way navigation button for easy use of the mobile phone’s functions. A TFT full color display can also be seen. For a mobile phone this size, it is quite surprising to find a display of 176 x 220. Truly this is a screen display not expected from such a phone, which is one of the reasons why it has become highly popular. This display uses 262,000 colors and will therefore provide more than satisfactory digital images.

Who could have known that you could access the vast World Wide Web with such a tiny gadget? Yes, the Motorola i850 is more powerful and functional than you think! In its tiny package comes a specifically designed web browser that allows its users to gain useful information from the internet. The use of this web browser is made possible by Motorola’s Wireless web service, which means that you can gain access to it with your Motorola i850 no matter where you are.

Although the Motorola i850 web browser is highly limited, it allows its users to access a wide range of sites compatible with this service. The micro browser even allows its users to check email and make use of internet messaging tools.

An icon on the main menu represents the short cut to the micro browser. Simply selecting this will allow its users to access information on the internet fairly quickly. Internet security is also an issue that Motorola has dealt with through a singular process that the mobile phone user must go through on the first launch of the micro browser. Although this security set up may take longer than some would like, it is only performed once. Besides, giving up some two to three minutes should not be a big issue considering the security function it provides for. Once this process is over, the micro browser can now do its job.
