Motorola, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, came up with the RAZR series a couple of years ago, naming it after the barber’s tool because of the phone’s flip-open clamshell style. Also, the RAZR style was so thin for a mobile phone, it’s said to be like the edge of a razor. The first model Motorola opened to the market was the RAZR V3 in 2005. PC World even ranked the RAZR V3 as 12th on the list of the 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years.
By 2006, other countries have made the RAZR V3 available to their residents. In Australia, the unit costs $200; In the United Kingdom for £70; and in Canada for $199.99. In the United States, Verizon and Cingular Wireless were one of the first to market the RAZR V3, while Sprint and Alltel soon followed. By mid-2006, Motorola proudly announced that they shipped their 50 millionth RAZR. The phone is said to be the most popular of its kind.
Soon after the RAZR V3, younger siblings were born, the RAZR V3c, V3i, and V3t. The latest addition to the family was the RAZR V3m, the multimedia phone of Motorola. The V3m is housed in an aluminum shell, making it lightweight and ultra thin. When flipped open, it shows an illuminated keypad made of nickel-plated copper alloy. Like the other RAZR V3’s, the V3m has two LCD screens, one on the outside and one on the inside of the cover. Both LCD screens have 16-bit color resolution.

Multimedia is a worldwide term for the various forms that we can get information from. This can range from auditory information to visual data, and the styles can vary based on the interest of the data-gatherer. Nowadays, we get information in hundreds of different forms, not just in black and white. Busy as most of us are, we always look for more ways where we can easily satisfy our need for the information that multimedia brings.
Introducing the Motorola RAZR V3m, it’s a new phone that combines a digital camera, mp3 player, AM/FM radio, and TV in one tiny device. How does it do that? Thanks to the think tank and wise men of Motorola, a V3m user can enjoy all the multimedia he wants, have the cellular phone he needs, without buying other electronics.
First, let’s talk about the display. Multimedia won’t be worth it if you don’t have a clear device to view it from. The RAZR V3m has two LCD screens, one on the outside, and another one when the cover is flipped open. The outside LCD has 96 x 80 pixels resolution, and the inner LCD has 176 x 220 pixels. Both screens can display over 65,000 colors, great for videos and TV shows. Next, the digital camera has 1.3 mega pixels and 4x zoom abilities. It can record up to 15 seconds of video, take pictures in night mode, and has a self-timer. With the LCD screen and camera combined, you can playback videos with the quality a professional does.
